Bhubaneswar, Jan 16: The Odisha Real Estate Regulatory Authority (ORERA) has formed a special Conciliation and Dispute Resolution (CDR) cell which will allow flat/house buyers and promoters to initiate a conciliation process and arrive at a mutual decision without going to court.
It will help in resolving disputes between flat/house buyers and builders without the intervention of the RERA Court that is getting around 45 to 60 such cases every month.
The CDR cell will have a total of five members - ORERA secretary, joint secretary, a legal advisor and a representative each from the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India (CREDAI) and from the allottees' association.
The CDR cell has been constituted by invoking power of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016. The ORERA court can send any dispute to the CDR cell.
The ORERA has written to the housing and urban development department asking for post facto approval for operationalisation of the CDR cell.
