Bhubaneswar, November 27: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi welcomed President Droupadi Murmu to the Odisha Legislative Assembly on Thursday, marking a historic moment as she addressed the House for the first time since assuming the country’s highest office.

In his address, CM Majhi lauded Murmu's inspiring rise from humble beginnings to the presidency, highlighting her resilience as a beacon of hope, especially for women and tribal communities. He praised her transformative contributions to Mayurbhanj, her birthplace, and emphasized her dedication to public service.

“She has made an extraordinary contribution to the development of Mayurbhanj, her birthplace. By returning to the Assembly, her first workplace, she sends a powerful message that no matter how high one rises, they must never forget their roots and beginnings,” Majhi said.

“Her journey from the Assembly to the highest office sends a powerful message that no matter how high one rises, one must remain grounded,” Majhi remarked.

The CM also highlighted the state government's focus on inclusive governance, citing President Murmu’s leadership and PM Modi’s vision of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" as guiding principles for Odisha's development. He expressed confidence that President Murmu’s address would inspire the Assembly and strengthen the vision for a prosperous Odisha by 2036 and a developed India by 2047.
