Sundargarh, Feb 27: In a tragic incident, a Class X student was crushed to death by a truck while going to appear for the ongoing BSE Matric examinations in Chakramal area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district today.
The deceased has been identified as Amran Ray, a resident of Dhelasara in Sargipali area.
As per reports, Amran was on his way to Nialipali High School on a motorcycle to appear for Matric exam when his two-wheeler collided with a truck head-on.
Under the impact of the collision, he fell down and the truck ran over his head killing him on the spot.
High tension prevailed in the area as irate locals blocked road demanding compensation for the family of deceased and arrest of the truck driver disrupting vehicular movement.
On getting the information, police arrived at the spot and pacified the agitators. The cops also seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
