Berhampur, June 3: In a gruesome incident, a youth was brutally murdered reportedly over past enmity in Badabazar area of Odisha’s Berhampur late last night.
The deceased has been identified as Ladu and the killing has been reported from Jagabandhu Sahi under Badabazar police limits. He had been in jail for his alleged involvement in an attempted murder case and had recently been released.
As per reports, some miscreants allegedly attacked Ladu near an apartment in Jagabandhu Sahi leading to his death on the spot and fled from the scene thereafter.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the crime scene and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mrotem.
Though the exact reason behind the gruesome killing is yet to be ascertained, police suspect that it might be fallout of past enmity.
An investigation has been initiated into the matter and evidence is also being collected from the area. Efforts are on to identify and nab the culprits involved, said the police.
