Bhubaneswar, June 25: Several parts of Odisha will experience an intense spell of rainfall from June 26 due to active monsoon, the IMD said on Tuesday.
Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Sundargarh on June 26, said IMD Bhubaneswar Centre's bulletin.
Thunderstorm and lightning accompanied with gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh and Bargarh on Wednesday, it added.
The Odisha government has asked all district collectors and municipal commissioners to remain fully prepared for probable flood situation as IMD has forecasted that an intense spell of rainfall due to active monsoon would occur throughout the state from June 26.
