Bhawanipatna, May 20: Odisha Vigilance has arrested Bhubaneswar Sabar, Executive Engineer of R&B Sub-Division, Dharmagarh and in-charge EE of R&B Division, Bhawanipatana, in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case. He will be forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatana on Wednesday.

According to Vigilance officials, searches conducted at properties linked to the engineer revealed massive movable and immovable assets allegedly disproportionate to his known sources of income. The assets unearthed include five buildings, of which four are multi-storeyed, 83 acres of land spread across 97 plots, two farmhouses covering nearly 17 acres, and a market complex comprising eight cabins.

Vigilance stated that the accused failed to satisfactorily explain the source of the assets detected during the raids.

In this connection, Koraput Vigilance Police Station Case No. 07/2026 has been registered against Sri Sabar under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
