Bhubaneswar, Sept 24: In a tragic incident, at least two brothers were killed after being struck by a passenger train while crossing the railway tracks at Haripur Basti near Rourkela Railway Station in Odisha last night.

The deceased have been identified as Ranjan Patra (17) and Debendra Patra (15).

As per reports, the accident occurred around 9 PM on Tuesday night when the two brothers were crossing the railway tracks and a passenger train struck them. The collision was so severe that both died instantly.

Upon getting the information, Rourkela Government Railway Police (GRP) officials immediately arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.

The bodies were seized and sent to Rourkela Government Hospital’s morgue for post-mortem examination. After the autopsy, they will be handed over to the family members.
