The wait is finally over for students in Odisha as the state is set to witness student union elections after a gap of eight years. The Higher Education Department has announced the schedule for the campus elections, with polling scheduled to be held on October 15.

Bhubaneswar, Oct 5: The wait is finally over for students in Odisha as the state is set to witness student union elections after a gap of eight years. The Higher Education Department has announced the schedule for the campus elections, with polling scheduled to be held on October 15.

Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj announced the decision following a meeting with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

As per the schedule, colleges will issue the official election notification on October 7, while nomination papers will be filed on October 9. The ‘Why I Stand For’ meeting will be held on October 13.

The student union elections will be conducted on October 15, followed by the oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected student representatives on October 16.

The Higher Education Minister said that the department will issue a detailed notification regarding the elections shortly.
