Bhubaneswar, May 4: Parts of Odisha are reeling under intense heatwave conditions with the temperature touching 43 to 46 degree Celsius in several places. The state will experience light to moderate rain from May 7 to 12 bringing respite from the harsh weather condition, said weathermen.
Odisha will witness a fall in temperature in north and south coastal districts from May 4, but there will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) in other parts of the state, said weather expert Dr Surendranath Pashupalak. The Monsoon will reach Andaman by May 18 and Kerala by May 27 or 28, he added.
The maximum temperature will remain around 44 degree Celsius in Jharsuguda, Angul, Talcher and Baripada. The Bhubaneswar meteorological centre has predicted Nor'wester (Kalabaisakhi) in coastal and its nearby districts during the next 24 hours.
The Nor'wester rain will help to decrease the temperature by 3 to 5 degree Celsius, it added.
