Balasore hottest place in Odisha, records 40.6 degree Celsius

Bhubaneswar, May 2: Odisha grappled with sweltering heat wave conditions today, as temperatures surged beyond 40 degree Celsius in multiple areas across the state. Balasore emerged as the hottest location, registering a scorching 40.6 degree Celsius, closely trailed by Jharsuguda and Bhubaneswar at 40 degrees Celsius each, with Sambalpur not far behind at 39.7 degrees Celsius. 

The heat wave persisted across several other regions, with temperatures recorded as follows:

Balasore: 40.6°C

Jharsuguda: 40°C

Keonjhar: 40°C

Sambalpur: 39.7°C

Hirakud: 39°C

Rourkela: 38.4°C

Bhubaneswar: 38°C

Puri: 33.6°C

Paradip: 32.4°C

Gopalpur: 32.4 °C

The soaring temperatures have prompted concerns among residents and authorities alike, urging precautionary measures to mitigate the effects of the intense heat wave.
