Bhubaneswar, Oct 19: The International Film Festival of Odisha (IFFOO), organized by the Indian Film Makers Association, took place at Jaydev Bhawan, showcasing a diverse range of cinematic talent.
At the festival, the film "Pratiksha" was honored as the Best Odia Film for 2022, while "Daman" secured the award for 2023. Actress Sona Mallik received accolades as the Best Odia Actress for her role in "Abha," which also won the Best Feature Film Jury Award for 2024.
In other categories, the Telugu film "Sarkaaru Noukari" was recognized as the Best Feature Film, and "Haridra," another Telugu production, won the award for Best Short Film. Renowned filmmaker Gopal Menon took home the Best Director award for his work on the Malayalam film "In the Lap." D. Janardhan Rao was named Best Producer for "Chitraguptapudu via Bhalu Kaam Tour." Additionally, the Best Short Bengali Film award went to "Parijayi."
The festival also honored "Vote," with Atish Kumar Raut recognized as Best Producer and Sandhyarani Rabhuplli awarded Best Actress in a Telugu film for her role in "Padmashri." The Odia documentary "Jaga Akhada" won the Best Documentary Film award, while the web series "Gangsters of Puri" was recognized as Best Web Series for 2022. For 2023, the film "Baranga 1999" also received accolades.
The event was attended by prominent figures including the National Chairman of the Association, Mr. Dileep Kumar R., General Secretary P. Raghunath Reddy, award-winning director Pranab Das, producer Gadadhar Putti, senior music director Prashant Padhy, and directors from the Kanchalanka Odia platform, including Bibhu Prasad Rath, along with notable guests from the media and film industry.
