Bhubaneswar, August 14: Women members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across Odisha have made a significant contribution to the success of the Har Ghar Tiranga 2025 campaign by producing around 10 lakh national flags..

The initiative has brought together women from SHGs across all 30 districts of the state, who worked together to meet the target of producing the flags ahead of Independence Day.

ccording to the report, women associated with SHGs, Producer Groups (PGs) and other federations were involved in the flag-making drive. They worked day and night to complete the production within the stipulated time.

The initiative has not only helped meet the demand for national flags during the Independence Day celebrations but has also provided an opportunity for women to strengthen their livelihoods through collective enterprise.

Officials said the women were encouraged to participate in the campaign as part of efforts to promote the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative and instil a sense of patriotism among people.

The women reportedly undertook the entire process, from preparing the flags to ensuring their timely supply. The initiative has emerged as an example of how SHG members can contribute to national campaigns while creating livelihood opportunities for themselves.

The state government has been encouraging women-led SHG groups to take up various income-generating activities. The flag-making initiative is being seen as another step towards empowering women through collective action and entrepreneurship.
