Broad daylight heist: Rs 11.63 lakh stolen from storage compartment of scooter in Odisha

Bargarh, July 30: In a broad daylight heist, Rs 11.63 lakh was allegedly stolen from the storage compartment of a parked scooter in Barpali area of Odisha’s Bargarh district on Wednesday.
According to reports, the victim, identified as Kshiti Pati Pradhan from Kadlipali village, had withdrawn the amount and had kept it in the storage space of his scooter. He stopped for a short time at a shop in Gahir Complex.
During this brief stop, a miscreant opened the scooter's storage and fled with the money.
After learning about the theft, Pradhan immediately lodged a formal complaint with the Barpali police.
Acting on it, officers swung into action and initiated an investigation at the scene.
CCTV footage from nearby shops are being reviewed to find key evidence. Bargarh Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Padarabinda Tripathi visited the spot to assess the situation.
