Bhubaneswar, August 23: Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Saturday accused the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) of instigating the ongoing strike by revenue employees of his Department to create unrest and disrupt government functioning.

Addressing the media, Pujari alleged that certain leaders within the Revenue Ministerial Employees’ Association, influenced by the BJD, were misleading workers and diverting the agitation from genuine concerns. Calling the issue an internal “family matter,” he assured that cadre restructuring is in its final phase and will be implemented lawfully.

Pujari further blamed the previous BJD government for leaving unresolved issues in the department, adding that some association leaders continue to act under the influence of BJD leaders. “Those unable to accept their defeat are attempting to destabilize the government by provoking employees,” he said, reiterating that the administration will remain firm.

Appealing to employees to reject political interference and resume duties, Pujari highlighted that many workers across districts have voiced dissatisfaction with their association’s leadership and are expected to return to work on Monday.

The minister also warned that while the government has so far avoided strict measures, it is prepared to act against those defying orders. “If they persist in tarnishing the administration, they will face consequences beyond their control,” he cautioned.
