Hyderabad, Mar 7: In a historic success for the security forces, at least 124 red- militants laid their arms and came forward to adopt mainstream of the society.

Officials said a total of 124 Maoists are ready to throw away the path of violence seeking the mainstream.

According to officials, the entire PLGA committee of Devji surrendered along with their weapons. The surrender process took place as part of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s call for a naxal free India by the end of March 2026.

Authorities said the development reflects the impact of the government’s rehabilitation schemes and development programs. These initiatives appear to have encouraged several Maoist members to leave the underground movement. Officials also indicated that the desire to join the mainstream of public life played a major role in this decision.

The surrender also includes members associated with the PLGA, which stands for the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army. The entire committee of Devji reportedly laid down their weapons during the surrender process and expressed interests to rejoin the mainstream, standing on their own legs with the rehabilitation packages, provided by the government.
