The tiger has moved into populated areas, preying on domesticated animals, particularly in the Badagaon and Talabandh Range regions. Several villages have reported over 25 domestic animals, including goats and cattle, being hunted by the tiger over the past few days.

Deputy Director of STR's south wildlife division Samrat Gowda, confirmed that the tiger had been roaming in the Bangiriposi and Badagaon areas under the Baripada Forest Division for the last eight days. “Being a sub-adult, the animal is naturally curious and tends to roam, jump, and explore new areas in search of food,” he said.

In one incident, some villagers near Basilakacha village under Chakidi Panchayat saw the tiger hunting in broad daylight while they were grazing cattle. Upon noticing the tiger, the villagers quickly fled, and some even captured the moment on their mobile phones.

Manoj Naik, the Range Officer of the Badagaon area, stated that the tiger was likely searching for food. He also mentioned that the department is keeping a close watch on its activities and assured that compensation would be provided to those who have lost livestock.
