Angul, Ap 10: Angul police on Thursday night conducted a surprise raid at a lodge near Turang Durgabihar, following a tip-off about a sex racket.

Four women were rescued, while the lodge operator and five men were taken into custody for questioning.

Several objectionable items were seized during the operation, led by Town Police Officer Prakash Chandra Majhi and Special Squad Inspector Ayashkant Jena.

Sources said the lodge was allegedly run by a youth from Dhenkanal, recruiting women and managing the racket.

Police are interrogating the suspects to uncover further details. The rescued women are currently under safe custody.
