Cuttack, Aug 31: In a tragic incident, a tourist died after drowning in Deojhar Waterfall in Odisha’s Cuttack.
The deceased has been identified as Soumyaranjan Parija, a resident of Kalyan Nagar in Naya Bazar area of Cuttack.
According to reports, six tourists from Cuttack had traveled to the Deojhar Waterfall for a picnic trip. While they were bathing in the waterfall, Soumyaranjan went missing.
Therafter, the other five youths immediately started searching for him and alerted the fire service department.
Upon getting the information, fire service personnel arrived at the scene and launched an extensive search operation. After hours of efforts, Soumyaranjan was found.
He was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Later, police, after being informed, arrived at the hospital and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
Further investigation into the matter was underway.
