Bhubaneswar, July 28: The Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar today successfully busted a gang involved in pick-pocketing valuables from passengers on Mo Bus in the capital city and arrested three women in this connection.
The identities of the accused women, hailing from neighboring Chhattisgarh, are yet to be ascertained.
As per reports, a youth lodged an FIR with the Nayapalli police yesterday, reporting that he had been looted of around Rs 25,000 while traveling on a Mo Bus near Durga Mandap in front of NABARD at Nayapalli area. The victim discovered the money missing from his pocket after alighting from the bus and suspected he had been pickpocketed.
Following this, police swung into action and launched an investigation into the matter by traveling undercover on different Mo Bus routes along the same path. Their efforts paid off when they nabbed the accused women.
Further investigation into the matter was underway, said the police.
