Bhubaneswar, July 27: The Higher Education Department has issued the admission notification for Postgraduate (PG) programmes for the 2026–27 academic session.

Admissions will be conducted based on the marks obtained in the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET).

Students can complete choice locking for their preferred higher education institutions through the SAMS portal from 3:00 PM on July 27 until 11:45 PM on August 2.

The first merit list will be published at 4:00 PM on August 7. Candidates selected in the first round can log in to the SAMS portal and choose the Freeze, Slide, or Float option between 6:00 PM on August 7 and 4:00 PM on August 11.

The second merit list is scheduled to be released at 4:00 PM on August 17. Classes for the first year of postgraduate programmes will commence from August 21, according to the Higher Education Department.

For the 2026–27 academic session, a total of 32,531 postgraduate seats are available across 135 higher education institutions under the Higher Education Department.
