Sundargarh, Mar 21: Properties worth over Rs 10 lakh were reduced to ashes after a massive fire broke out at a restaurant under Sundargarh police limits in Odisha late last night.
As per reports, the fire broke out near the cash counter and soon the flames engulfed the entire restaurant.
About 15 workers were inside the restaurant when the fire mishap occurred. Fortunately, they escaped by climbing onto the roof.
After being alerted, Fire Services personnel arrived at the spot and launched an operation to douse the flames. After hours of efforts, the flames were brought under control and the workers were safely rescued.
Properties worth over Rs 10 lakh, including several refrigerators and four scooters parked near the restaurant were reduced to ashes.
Thought the exact reason behind the blaze is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the fire emerged due to a electrical short circuit near the cash counter.
