Balasore, July 11: In a gruesome incident, a man allegedly hacked his brother to death in Bhograi area of Odisha’s Balasore district reportedly over past enmity.
The deceased has been identified as Nimain Mandal (50) and the incident has been reported from Mankunda village in Analia panchayat under Bhograi police limits.
According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Niams Mandal called his younger brother Nimain to his house for some unknown reason at around 11 pm last night. Thereafter, when Nimain did not return, his family members searched for him but could not find him.
However, this morning, some villagers discovered Nimain’s bloodied body in front of Niams' house and immediately informed is family before alerting the police.
Upon getting the information, Bhogarai Police arrived at the scene and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
The exact motive behind the gruesome killing is yet to be ascertained.
An investigation with the help of a forensic team has been initiated into the matter, said the police.
