Puri, July 29: Raising serious concerns over the security measures, a man was caught red-handed while trying to take photos and videos inside the Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri using a hidden camera in his spectacles.
The incident, which violated the temple's strict no-photography rule, came to light after security personnel grew suspicious of the unusual behavior of the accused, identified as Abhishit Kar who is a resident of Gajapati Nagar.
The security personnel detained the man and carried out a thorough inspection. They found a hidden spy camera lens installed in his glasses, which was reportedly sending footage directly to his mobile phone.
The security personnel quickly handed him over to the Singhadwar police, where he is being questioned.
The police are trying to ascertain why he did this and if he has any connections to people or groups that might pose a threat to the temple's security.
