Malkangiri, May 3: Malkangiri police busted a mobile hashish oil manufacturing unit in Chitrakonda area early this morning, said an official release on Sunday.
According to the release, police seized 800 Litres of precursor that would have been used to manufacture 800 Litres of Hashish Oil worth Rs 100 crore, 50 KG ganja, two litres of Hashish Oil and manufacturing equipment.
Police were tipped off about the illegal activities in Chitrakonda area following which they kept vigil for last few days. Multiple raids were also conducted to bust the illegal manufacturing unit in the past.
However, due to intense police pressure, whole set up was being transported to various locations by the syndicate members.
Acting on precise intelligence, a team of police officials led by Chitrakonda SDPO Pradosh Pradhan intercepted the vehicle bearing the registration of number of Andhra Pradesh, carrying the entire clandestine Hashish oil mobile manufacturing unit, near Essar Chakk under Chitrakonda police station early on Sunday morning
However, the driver of the vehicle managed to escape taking advantage of the thick forest cover.
Meanwhile, Malkangiri SP has formed multiple teams to nab the driver and others involved in the illegal activities.
The teams are currently conducting an expansive investigation to dismantle the broader syndicate, focusing on identifying the source of the raw materials, the intended destination network, and the financial trails associated with the operation. Further legal proceedings and investigations into forward and backward linkages are ongoing, officials said.
