Amaravati, November 3: At least two people were killed after severe cyclonic storm Murasu battered Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, causing widespread damage to crops, houses and power infrastructure, officials said.

The cyclone, the second to hit the state within a week, made landfall in the early hours of Tuesday, inundating standing crops across 15 districts. More than 52,000 hectares of agricultural land were affected, while over 300 houses and several power transmission lines were damaged.

Krishna, Bapatla and Nandyal districts were among the worst-hit areas as heavy rainfall and strong winds disrupted normal life across the state.
