Bhubaneswar, Sep 17: Odisha illuminated over one crore earthen lamps across all 30 districts as part of the "Seba Sankalpa Abhiyan-2026" to mark the 76th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

At the historic Mukteswar Temple premises in Bhubaneswar, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi joined thousands of women and youths to light 11,000 "Aashirbadara Deepa" (lamps of blessing).

Accompanied by devotional bhajans and traditional conch sounds, the event saw wholehearted participation from Self-Help Group (SHG) members and Subhadra Yojana beneficiaries.

Expressing heartfelt wishes for the Prime Minister's long life and good health, Chief Minister Majhi stated that the glowing flames symbolize the profound affection and blessings of Odisha’s four and a half crore citizens.

"Modi Ji's dream will be fulfilled by Odisha, and India will surely become a Vishwa Guru," the Chief Minister affirmed.

The spiritual observance extended from individual households to village panchayats, blocks, and district headquarters, where temples were adorned with traditional jhoti art and collective lamp-lightings.

Prominent dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, MLA Babu Singh, and MLA Upasana Mohapatra, also graced the celebration in Bhubaneswar.
