Nayagarh, Nov 12: A robbery attempt in Solpata village under Nayagarh Town police limits in Odisha was foiled late last night after vigilant residents confronted a group of miscreants. One suspect was apprehended, while three villagers sustained injuries during the clash.

According to reports, a gang of unidentified men tried to carry out a dacoity in the village. When the intruders attempted to break into several houses, the alert villagers raised an alarm and resisted their attack. In retaliation, the miscreants allegedly hurled crude bombs, leaving three residents injured. The injured were immediately rushed to Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for treatment.

Amid the chaos, the villagers managed to capture one of the accused, who was reportedly beaten before being handed over to the Nayagarh Town Police. The remaining members of the gang managed to flee and are currently on the run.

A police team reached the spot shortly after the incident, secured the area, and launched an investigation into the attempted robbery.

Efforts are underway to identify and nab the other culprits involved in the attack.
