Hindi Pakhwada is observed every year across Indian Railways in accordance with the Government of India’s policy to promote wide use of Rajbhasha in official functioning.

Odisha: Hindi Pakhwada 2026 begins at East Coast Railway Headquarters

Bhubaneswar, September 14: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Monday begun the observance of Hindi Pakhwada 2026 with great enthusiasm. The fortnight-long programme is being organized to encourage the progressive use of Hindi in official works and to create widespread awareness among the officials for the significance of Official Language Hindi.

On this occasion, ECoR General Manager Parmeshwar Funkwal administered the Rajbhasha Pledge to officers and staff. The programme will continue till September 28.

Funkwal urged the officials to use Hindi extensively in their day to day office work. He further mentioned that the use of Hindi Language should not be limited to just one day.

As part of the observance, a series of competitions and programmes have been planned, including Railway safety slogan writing competition, Passenger grievance redressal drafting competition, Hindi spelling and sentence correction competition, Railway word finding and signage identification competition, Quiz competition and Hindi workshops. These activities are aimed at encouraging the officials to use Hindi progressively in their office work.
