Bhubaneswar, July 1: The Odisha government has deployed specialized health teams to Keonjhar, Balasore, and Mayurbhanj districts in response to post-diarrhea care needs and health risks triggered by ongoing floods.
According to an official release, a team led by Dr. Prameela Baral, Additional Director of Public Health, is stationed in Keonjhar to manage diarrhea-related cases. The team is actively monitoring water- and food-borne diseases, coordinating with local authorities, and ensuring the availability of essential supplies like ORS, antibiotics, IV fluids, and water purification tablets.
Simultaneously, another team headed by Dr. Binay Das Mohapatra, Joint Director, is overseeing health responses in Balasore and Mayurbhanj. Their focus includes preventing outbreaks, handling snakebite cases, and confirming the stock of Anti-Snake Venom (ASV) and other emergency medical supplies in flood-affected areas.
