Bhubaneswar, Oct 1: The Odisha government has revised the effective date for the regularisation of Junior Teachers (Schematic) recruited during 2023-24, fixing January 1, 2026, as the date from which they will be regularised as Assistant Teachers.
The School and Mass Education Department, in a notification issued today, stated that Junior Teachers recruited through the prescribed process and continuing in service will be regularised as Assistant Teachers in Level-V(A) of the Elementary Cadre, subject to fulfilment of the applicable conditions.
The latest notification supersedes the department’s earlier order dated April 2, 2026, relating to the regularisation of Junior Teachers.
Under the revised order, the period of service rendered by the Junior Teachers from their respective dates of initial joining up to December 31, 2025, will be considered service in a schematic or contractual capacity. This period will not be counted towards regular cadre seniority or entitle the teachers to any consequential benefits applicable to regular service before the date of regularisation.
However, the teachers covered by the notification will be entitled to regular pay and other admissible service benefits applicable to Assistant Teachers in Level-V(A) with effect from January 1, 2026, subject to prevailing government rules and instructions.
The notification has been issued by the School and Mass Education Department and will be published in an extraordinary issue of the Odisha Gazette.
