Bhubaneswar, July 7: The State Government on Tuesday said that competent authorities have been intimated to initiate appropriate legal action after a fake letter announcing appointment of 7,234 Sishu Vatika Teacher posts went viral on social media.
“A forged and fabricated letter, purportedly issued by the Finance Department bearing Letter No. 10911/F dated 24.04.2026, has recently been circulated on various social media platforms. The same forged document has also been published in certain sections of the print media, creating confusion among the public,” said a Government release.
According to the release, the fake letter falsely claims that the Finance Department has accorded approval for creation and engagement of 7,234 Sishu Vatika Teacher posts under OSEPA, with a monthly remuneration of Rs 26,200 per teacher.
“It is clarified that the said letter is completely fake, fabricated and unauthorised,” it said.
“No such proposal has been approved by the Finance Department. No approval has been issued by the competent authority for creation or engagement of 7,234 Sishu Vatika Teacher posts through the alleged letter,” it stated.
The Government said that the circulation of forged Government documents is a serious offence
“The purported signature, contents, letter number and approval reflected in the circulated document are false and have no official validity. The circulation of forged Government documents is a serious offence. The matter has already been brought to the notice of the competent authorities for appropriate legal action against the persons responsible for preparing, circulating and disseminating the fake letter,” it warned.
The Government appeals to the public, media houses and all stakeholders not to rely upon or circulate unverified Government communications.
“Official information should always be verified through authorized Government notifications, official websites and competent authorities. The Government remains committed to transparency and timely dissemination of authentic information,” it added.
