Bhubaneswar, December 15: In a significant move, the State Government on Monday announced its decision to hike the stipends for Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic students studying in State-run Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic colleges in the State.
According to a CMO communique, the stipend for first-year postgraduate (PG) Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic students has been increased by 55 percent. Earlier, their monthly stipend was Rs 31,000, which has now been increased to Rs 48,000.
For second-year students, it has been increased by 62 per cent from Rs 32,000 to Rs 52,000. For third-year students, the monthly stipend amount has been increased by 67 per cent from Rs 33,000 to Rs 55,000.
The revised stipend will be implemented from January 2026.
Similarly, the stipend hike has also been extended to House Surgeons who will now receive Rs 30,000. Earlier, the House Surgeons were receiving a stipend of Rs 17,000 stipend. The revised stipend will be implemented retrospectively from August 2025.
“The Chief Minister has expressed hope that students will devote themselves more to education and patient care and provide quality healthcare services,” the CMO communique stated.
