Bhubaneswar, April 23: The Odisha government is all set to celebrate National Panchayati Raj Diwas on April 24 with statewide programmes aimed at strengthening grassroots democracy and showcasing rural development efforts.
The main event will be held in Puri, attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and cabinet ministers, and will be broadcast live for wider public engagement.
In a directive, the Panchayati Raj Director instructed full-scale preparations at the state, district, and block levels. The government is focusing on Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities such as banners, hoardings, and awareness camps to promote various schemes.
Officials have been asked to ensure active public participation, smooth logistics for ministerial visits, and documentation of events. Local MPs, MLAs, and dignitaries will join district and block-level events.
Citizens are also encouraged to witness the Prime Minister’s address as part of the national observance.
