Bhubaneswar, Aug 18: The Odisha government has appointed advocate Biraja Shankar Mishra of Kendujhar as a Member of the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC).

The appointment has been made under sub-section (1) of Section 22 of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.

According to a notification issued by the Law Department today, Mishra will assume office as a Member of the Commission with effect from the date he takes charge of his post.

The notification has been issued by order of the Governor.
