Bhubaneswar, Auguat 21: The Odisha government has decided to hold Cabinet meetings twice every month to speed up the decision-making process and ensure faster implementation of Cabinet-approved decisions.
All administrative departments have been directed to prepare their proposals well in advance and submit Cabinet notes to the Chief Secretary sufficiently ahead of the scheduled meetings. The move is aimed at streamlining the process and enabling the Cabinet to take timely decisions on important proposals.
The decision follows a meeting of senior secretaries held on August 4 at Kharavela Bhavan, chaired by the Chief Secretary. During the meeting, departments were instructed to keep their proposals ready in advance and ensure that Cabinet notes are submitted within the prescribed timeframe.
The government has also stressed that its focus should not be limited to decision-making alone. Departments have been asked to regularly monitor the implementation of Cabinet decisions and ensure that approved measures are executed within the stipulated time.
The new system is expected to make the administrative process more efficient, improve coordination among departments and accelerate the implementation of key government decisions.
