Bhubaneswar, Jul 24: The Odisha government will organise a Nijukti Mela on August 1, 2026, during which appointment letters will be handed over to 1,101 newly recruited candidates across seven government departments. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to attend the event and personally distribute the appointment letters.
According to an official communication issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, candidates selected in the Housing & Urban Development, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water, Energy, Fisheries & Animal Resources Development, Sports & Youth Services, Skill Development & Technical Education, and Excise Departments will receive their appointment letters at the programme.
The Housing and Urban Development Department will account for the highest number of appointments, with 364 Junior Engineers (Civil) set to join, followed by the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, which will appoint 357 Junior Engineers (Civil).
The Energy Department will issue appointment letters to 248 candidates, including 12 Junior Engineers (Electrical), 67 Graduate Engineer Trainees, 10 Management Trainees, 34 Diploma Engineer Trainees, and 125 Technical Non-Executive Trainees under the Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC).
The Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department will recruit 86 candidates, comprising 15 Junior Engineers (Civil) and 71 Livestock Inspectors. Additionally, 25 Junior Coaches will be appointed in the Sports and Youth Services Department, 11 Assistant Training Officers in the Skill Development and Technical Education Department, and 10 Excise Sub-Inspectors in the Excise Department.
The state government has been conducting Nijukti Melas regularly to provide appointment letters through a single platform and expedite the recruitment process. The upcoming event forms part of the government's ongoing initiative to fill vacancies across departments and strengthen public service delivery.
