Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC is delighted to announce that versatile defender Thoiba Singh Moirangthem has signed a long-term contract extension, committing his future to the club until 2029.
Thoiba, who joined the club at just 17 during the 2019–20 season, has grown into an important part of the squad over the years. From a promising teenager, he has developed into a reliable presence in defence. This season, he formed a solid partnership at the back alongside experienced defenders like Carlos Delgado and Mourtada Fall, holding his own and earning the trust of the team.
One of the standout moments of his 2023–24 ISL campaign came in the knockout clash against Kerala Blasters FC, where his intelligent pass to Roy Krishna helped set up a crucial equaliser, finished by Diego Mauricio.
His opening goal of the 2024–25 season came in the 2–2 draw against NorthEast United FC. Thoiba’s progress was further rewarded when he received his first call-up to the Indian national team - a proud milestone in his young career and for the club.
Odisha FC congratulates Thoiba on this well-deserved extension and wishes him continued success in his journey with the club.
