Bhubaneswar, May 27: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted an above-normal monsoon for Odisha during June–September 2025.
The state is expected to receive over 106% of its Long Period Average (LPA) rainfall of 1150 mm, offering a boost to its agrarian sector.
Odisha, part of the Monsoon Core Zone, is likely to see higher-than-normal rainfall, aligning with projections for Central and South Peninsular India. However, Northeast India may experience below-normal rains.
Nationwide, monsoon rainfall is forecasted at 106% of LPA, with a ±4% margin of error.
June 2025 is also expected to bring above-normal rainfall for most regions, while temperatures are likely to be normal to below normal in many areas, except parts of Northwest and Northeast India, where higher temperatures are expected.
