Amidst the twin polls in Odisha, Simulia MLA Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi today resigned from the primary membership of the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

Simulia, May 22: Amidst the twin polls in Odisha, Simulia MLA Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi today resigned from the primary membership of the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

Panigrahi tendered his resignation letter to BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik.

After being denied a ticket by the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in the current assembly elections, Panigrahi expressed his disappointment.

Panigrahi, who emerged victorious in the assembly elections from the Simulia constituency in Balasore district in both 2014 and 2019, had hoped for the party's support once again.
