
Kendujhar, Sept 10: The decomposed body of a woman, who had been missing for four days, was recovered in Ramachandrapur area of Odisha’s Kendujhar district on Wednesday sparking suspicion of murder over an extra-marital affair.
The deceased woman has been identified as Sukanti Das, wife of Bulu Das, and the incident has been reported from Janardanpurpatna village in Alati panchayat under Ramachandrapur police limits in the district.
As per reports, Sukanti had an illicit relationship with one Krupasindhu Das from the same village. After their illicit relationship came to light, Sukanti had earlier lodged a complaint against Krupasindhu with the local police.
Following the complaint, police arrested Krupasindhu. He had been released on bail seven days ago, after which Sukanti went missing.
Meanwhile, Ramchandrapur police detained and questioned him the previous day, before releasing him. However, Sukanti's decomposed body was found near a drain in the village today, raising suspicion of murder over the illicit relationship with Krupasindhu.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem. The cops have also detained one person for questioning in connection with the matter.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
