Odisha: Cyber fraudsters dupe RSP employee of Rs 3.58 lakh in Sundargarh

Sundargarh, May 12: In yet another instance of cyber fraud, criminals allegedly duped an employee of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) in Odisha’s Sundargarh district of Rs 3.58 lakh.

According to reports, the victim RSP staff member saw a credit card advertisement on a social media site on May 7 and clicked on the link to learn more. The next day, he received a phone call asking for his bank details, Aadhaar number, and PAN card number.

Without thinking much, the victim shared all his details and was told he would get more information within 24 hours. However, to his shock, the RSP employee later found that Rs 3.58 lakh had been taken from his bank account.

After learning that he has been defrauded, he lodged an FIR at the local police station. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case and started an investigation into the matter.
