Kendrapara, Oct 7: A college lecturer on Wednesday alleged that she was verbally abused and threatened by a parent who allegedly entered her classroom while she was teaching students at Balia Women’s College in Kendrapara district.
The incident reportedly took place at the college under the jurisdiction of Kendrapara Sadar police station.
Inappropriate Language Used
Minakshi Lenka, a Sociology lecturer at the college, has lodged a complaint with the police alleging that the parent entered the classroom while she was conducting a class and allegedly used abusive and inappropriate language against her.
According to the complaint, the accused allegedly threatened to kill her and misbehaved with her in front of the students. The lecturer claimed that the incident left her severely distressed and mentally traumatised.

Following the complaint, police registered a case and initiated an investigation into the allegations. Officials are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident as part of the probe.
Police Investigation Continues
Meanwhile, college principal Padmalaya Dash convened a meeting of the Internal Complaints Committee after the incident. The committee reportedly discussed the matter with both sides.
The complainant has also sought examination of the college’s CCTV footage, which she believes could help establish what happened inside the classroom.
The police investigation is currently underway, and further details are awaited. The allegations against the parent are yet to be independently established.
