Bhubaneswar, June 4: The Odisha Government is set to organise a Mega Job Fair on June 6, where appointment letters will be distributed to 1,240 newly recruited candidates across various departments. The event will take place at the Rail Auditorium in Rail Sadan, Bhubaneswar, and will be graced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who will personally hand over the appointment letters.
Preparations for the large-scale event are already underway, as the state government aims to boost public sector employment and strengthen departmental capacities across key areas of governance. The upcoming job fair marks a significant step in fulfilling employment commitments and expanding service delivery across Odisha.
As per official sources, the recruitment spans multiple departments including:
School and Mass Education
Skill Development and Technical Education
Health and Family Welfare
Commerce and Transport
Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water

Labour and Employees State Insurance (ESI)
Key recruitment highlights:
826 candidates will be appointed as Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) under the School and Mass Education Department.
81 lecturers will be inducted into Government Polytechnic Colleges under the Skill Development and Technical Education Department.
In the Health and Family Welfare Department, 169 posts will be filled, including:
12 Assistant Professors
46 Drug Inspectors
111 Nursing Officers
The Commerce and Transport Department will issue appointment letters to 63 candidates, including:
40 Junior MVIs (Motor Vehicle Inspectors)
23 Traffic Constables
49 Gram Panchayat Development Officers will be appointed under the Panchayati Raj Department.
The Excise Department will recruit 32 Sub-Inspectors.
