Bhubaneswar, Aug 14: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of three Odia labourers in a road accident in Telangana.
The incident occurred when a speeding goods truck collided with the workers from behind while they were engaged in roadside plantation work in the Sikandar Kaman area under Keesara police limits.
The victims, identified as 56-year-old Jayaram Bhatra, 20-year-old Narayan Bhatra, and 21-year-old Chetanaman Bhatra, hailed from Bakadabeda village in the Jharigaon block of Nabarangpur district. The workers had traveled to Telangana 11 days ago in search of employment.
As a gesture of support, CM Majhi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) to the next of kin of the deceased. The families of the victims are being extended all possible assistance during this difficult time.
