Bhubaneswar, May 9: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has assured citizens that the state is fully prepared to handle any potential threats. He urged the public not to panic and emphasized that the government is taking all necessary precautions.

After reviewing security arrangements at several key locations—including the Jagannath Temple in Puri, Hirakud Dam, Chandipur missile testing range, and Paradip Port—the Chief Minister addressed the media. He stated, "India is determined to eliminate terrorism, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading from the front on the global stage."

Highlighting potential threats through the Bay of Bengal to strategic locations like Chandipur and Puri, Majhi noted that the central government has issued alerts and urged states to be on high alert. "We have thoroughly discussed and strengthened our security arrangements accordingly," he said.

He also mentioned that discussions are underway to seal certain borders and areas while intensifying security checks. "Additionally, efforts are being made to bring Odias residing outside the state back safely. A 24-hour help desk has been set up at the Odisha Bhawan in New Delhi to assist them," he added.

The Chief Minister further informed that Odia students studying in Jammu and Kashmir have already been safely relocated to Delhi, and the situation is being closely monitored. "There is no need to worry. If a war breaks out, India will emerge victorious. The people of Odisha should remain calm and confident," Majhi said.
