Bhubaneswar, April 21: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with 10 ministers and top officials, held the state's first-ever public grievance hearing outside Bhubaneswar, at the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation.
Around 1,400 complaints were registered during the event — 1,000 online and 400 offline.
This marked the 10th round of the CM's public hearing initiative, where nearly 88% of over 10,000 earlier complaints have already been resolved.
Notably, Rs 19.5 lakh in immediate medical aid was disbursed to 18 critically ill individuals from the CM's Relief Fund via a Single Window System.
Calling it a “positive step for democracy,” Majhi said the initiative aims to bring the government closer to the people and empower local officials to tackle grassroots issues.
CM Majhi criticized the previous BJD regime for ignoring public concerns and promised similar hearings across the state.
Before attending the event.CM and his team also visited the Maa Samaleswari Temple, praying for the well-being of Odisha's citizens.
