Bhubaneswar, October 3: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a cash award of ₹11 lakh each for members of the Indian men’s hockey team and ₹5.5 lakh each for the support staff following the team’s gold medal victory at the Asian Games 2026.

Congratulating the players and support staff on their achievement, Majhi lauded their contribution to India’s success at the continental sporting event.

The Chief Minister said Odisha shares a deep-rooted association with Indian hockey and takes pride in the national team’s achievement. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to promoting sporting excellence and supporting athletes.

The announcement was made by the Chief Minister’s Office through a post on X on Saturday.
