Odisha CM dismisses former Bhubaneswar Additional Tehsildar over irregularities

Bhubaneswar, May 30: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday has dismissed Chittaranjan Pillai, former Additional Tehsildar of Bhubaneswar, from Government service.

According to a CMO release, Pillai, who was later posted as Deputy Collector in Jagatsinghpur, faced allegations of irregularities during his tenure as Additional Tahsildar in Bhubaneswar, particularly in land-related matters.

A departmental inquiry conducted by senior officials reportedly found evidence of procedural violations in several cases handled by him.

The dismissal order was issued following the inquiry report.

The Chief Minister has maintained a policy of zero tolerance towards corruption and has stated on several occasions that no corrupt official will be spared, the CMO said.

In July last year, Chief Minister Majhi dismissed a Medical Officer namely Karunakar Rout serving at the mental health and cancer care at Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital and a Supply Inspector namely Babilata Behera after they were convicted in corruption cases filed by Vigilance department.

The Chief Minister has adopted a zero tolerance policy towards corruption. Majhi has said many times that his Government will not spare any corrupt official irrespective of rank.
