Bhubaneswar, July 20: Chief Secretary Anu Garg on Saturday reviewed the progress of key Government welfare schemes and projects, including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and directed Collectors for timely completion of all the projects, said an official release on Monday.

All District Collectors attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The Chief Secretary emphasised strengthening coordinated district-level action to prevent drug abuse and drug trafficking. District Collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs) were instructed to ensure regular quarterly meetings of the District Narco Coordination (NCORD) Committees and conduct effective reviews of their outcomes.

To achieve the objectives of the 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' (Drug-Free India Campaign), Collectors were directed to prepare a dedicated action plan in their respective district for the period 2026-2029.

The meeting reviewed the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0, including Affordable Housing and Affordable Rental Housing projects. District Collectors were directed to identify suitable land, resolve land-related issues promptly, prepare project proposals, and ensure timely implementation.

The meeting also discussed the creation of land banks and land allotment for industrial projects by IDCO to facilitate rapid industrial development. District Collectors were instructed to expedite land acquisition and lease approvals, resolve local issues, assist in conducting Gram Sabha meetings, and identify land required for compensatory afforestation.

The Chief Secretary advised district Collectors to hold regular District Single Window Authority Committee meetings, similar to those at the state level, to expedite decisions on various development projects.

The Chief Secretary also reviewed progress of Ama Hospital Scheme, TB-Free India Campaign 2.0, Model Primary School Scheme, 'Viksita Gaon Viksita Odisha' programme, Viksit Bharat – Grameen Rozgar Evam Ajeevika Mission (VBGRAM-G) and Weather Information Network and Data System (WINDS) project, Model Solar Village Programme under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and pending telecom projects under the Digital Bharat Nidhi Scheme.
