Bhubaneswar, June 12: The Odisha Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is scheduled to meet at 8 PM on Thursday, coinciding with the completion of two years of the BJP government in the state. The meeting is expected to deliberate on several key proposals, with major decisions likely to be announced.
Sources said the Cabinet meeting will be held at Lok Seva Bhawan in the presence of Chief Secretary Anu Garg, secretaries of various departments, and members of the Council of Ministers. A number of proposals from different departments are expected to be placed before the Cabinet for approval.
Given the significance of the occasion, the government is likely to consider measures aimed at benefiting various sections of society. Officials indicated that several important policy and development-related proposals could receive the Cabinet's nod.
With the Panchayat elections approaching, political circles are also abuzz with speculation that the government may unveil a few major announcements during the meeting. However, the official agenda of the Cabinet has not yet been made public.
